I have been a volunteer with USA BOXING working as a ringside physician for the past 18 years. Presently I am the Chair of the USA Boxing medical committee. Responsibilities include placing physicians at national and international events, assessing medical conditions of our athletes, pre and post bout physicals and organizing educational symposium for our members.
USA Boxing is the amateur organization for young athletes aspiring for Olympic competition and later entering a professional boxing career. There is a legal requirement to have doctors present at these competitions for the safety of our boxers. I have been attending local, state, and national events for USABOX National events, Golden Gloves, Police Athletic League, World Boxing, and the US National Olympic team. I have traveled to international tournaments in Honduras and Germany as the team physician for our national team. I am pleased to provide volunteer free care to assist these male and female athletes in their quest for Olympic recognition.
I enjoy reading, watching movies viewing and cruising. My wife is a star in everyone's life.
Education is very important to me. Two children are physicians, one child is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and one is an RN. The goals of learning and striving for achievement are important tenants in my children's scholastic adventure.
